More hightlights

On our way out of the Midi Pyrenees we visited a very famous town called St Emilion.
Saint Emilion was a monk who founded the town which also became a famous wine region and still is today. We went inside a mono lithic church. This means one rock- so it was dug out of the mountain and not actually built. We had to go underground to see it and it was really amazing and very old. Then we drove to our next place to stay called Larresingle. Another very famous town with a fortified city (castle) and or house was right across the road from the castle. Really amazing!
We went to a place called camp siege which we had to dress up in mediaeval clothes and learned about weaponry from the the time and we go to have a turn of bow and arrow, catapults, and other things too. It was really fun. We visited some ancient Abbaye's and cathedrals, churches and bought some yummy food at local markets. It has been quite hot so we could swim in the pool at the house we stayed in too.

Highlights of Midi Pyrenees- First week

Hello everyone, so far it's ben a busy time and we have had internet trouble so we will give some highlights of the first week.

We have seen ancient villages and churches in the towns of Lherm, Saint Cirq Lapopie, Cahors, Cazals, Puy Leveque. Wehave had fun buying food in the markets of Praysac

A very long journey!

Hello everyone, we left Sydney airport on Monday 2nd September and arrived at Paris Tuesday evening 5pm France time which was actually 1am Wednesday in your time in Australia as there is an 8hr time difference. Today we were very tired as we also had to drive from Paris for 5hrs to get to the house in Catus which is where we are for the first week- it ended up being 1.30am before we went to bed after 30hrs of travelling! It is beautiful and warm here today - maybe about 28 degrees. We wandered around the village and bought bread from the boulangerie and meat from the boucherie. Here are some quick snaps outside our house and the village.

Hello to everyone, especially, 1H and 3B. We will be off on our big holiday around France ending with a huge week in Paris. We hope to keep you all posted on our adventures as we travel over the next month.

Paris lights up at night.

Our last few days in Paris were very busy seeing all the sights, museums, galleries and tasting lots of yummy French food. Our final surprise- Paris lights up at night and Parisiennes eat huge fairy floss! Love Ruby and Curtis.

Paris-Disneyland and the Eiffel Tower

We are having so much fun on our trip in France and have done so many things the last few weeks we didn't have time to give you a message. We are now in our last week which we are spending in Paris. The first day we went to Disneyland and it was so much fun we got scared on some rides and in the haunted house and we walked through all the different lands like fairytale land and Pirates land and western world. A couple of days ago we went up to the top of the Eiffel Tower it was 324 mtres high and at the top it is frezzing cold and windy- the elevator up was scary too. From the top you get a great view over Paris. We have seen lots of artworks in the Louvre Museum and the Musee Dorsay and we even saw The Mona Lisa! We got to see Vangoghs works and Monet and many others. We climbed to the top of the Arc de Triomphe which had 284 stairs! and the view was amazing!

We've also been on the Metro underground train nearly everyday, we've visited Notre Dame Cathedral, The Palace at Versailles which had lots of gold and was so big and fancy, we went on a cruise along the Seine River and saw Paris from underneath the many famous bridges, we've been on an open air double decker bus which we could hop on and off whenever we liked.
